Description:

American Express is seeking an Analyst for their Credit Risk Analytics division in Gurgaon. As a member of the Third Line of Defense (3LOD) Credit Risk Review team, you will play a vital part in providing independent oversight and assurance to key Consumer & Commercial credit risk portfolios. This position is well-suited for data analysts who want to deepen their expertise in credit risk, leverage analytics tools, and turn complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Extract, transform, and analyze large data sets using SQL, Python, or similar tools with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop engaging dashboards and reports using Tableau or Power BI.
• Prepare, validate, and visualize data to support portfolio reviews and thematic analyses.
• Perform rigorous quality assurance on outputs to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all processes, logics, and data sources.
• Suggest and implement process improvements within project scope.
• Participate in continuous learning and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Encourage and contribute to a culture of innovation by exploring new tools and analytics techniques, including Gen AI for automation and insight generation.

Key Technical Skills:

SQL, BigQuery, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Data Manipulation, Credit Risk Analytics, Gen AI Prompt Engineering

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in analytics, data manipulation, or reporting (preferably in financial services or credit risk).
• Proficiency with SQL, BigQuery, and Python; experience with additional scripting languages is an advantage.
• Familiarity with credit risk concepts and portfolio analytics.
• Skilled in dashboard and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong Excel abilities for quick analysis.
• Knowledge of Gen AI tools for automation and data analysis is a plus.
• Keen attention to detail and rigorous quality control.
• Collaborative, able to multitask effectively, and eager to learn.
